Beautiful example of an opaline piece from the French restoration period. 

This apple-shaped ("Pomiforme") bottle, was made between 1820 and 1830. 

In general, these bottles, especially in combination with bronze, are attributed

to the French glass factory Le Creusot. The ormolu 'lights up', because of the 

lamps. The last picture gives a more realistic look of the colors. There's also a 

puprlish glow, on one side of the bottle. (See pictures 3, 4, & 9). 

Although the bottle has a fairly simplistic appearance, there's still a lot of 

techniques that goes behind it. The glass itself is hand-blown, and made of thin

soap-like opal crystal, also called "bulle de savon". 

Both the bottle and the cap have a bronze fire-gilded decoration. 

The bronze frame of the bottle is serrated (moleté). 

The bronze of the cap is chiseled (chiselé) and imprinted (estampé).

*Belangrijk:   

Prachtig voorbeeld van een opaline stuk uit de Franse restauratie periode.

Deze appelvormige ("Pomiforme") fles, is vervaardigd tussen 1820 en 1830.

Over het algemeen worden deze flessen, zeker in combinatie met brons, 

toegeschreven aan de Franse glasfabriek Le Creusot". Het verguldsel gloeit 

op onder de belichting. De laatste foto geeft een beter idee van de kleuren.

Prachtige 'swirl' in het glas. Er zit ook een paars-achtige gloed in het glas,

aan één zijde van de fles. (Zie foto's 3, 4, en 9).

Al heeft de fles een redelijk simplistisch uiterlijk, is er toch een stuk techniek

die erachter schuil gaat. Het glas zelf is handgeblazen, en gemaakt van dun zeepachtig

opaal kristal, ook wel "bulle de savon" genoemd.

Zowel de fles als de dop hebben een bronzen vuurvergulde versiering.

Het bronzen montuur van de fles is gekarteld (moleté). 

Het brons van de dop is geciseleerd (ciselé) en bedrukt (estampé).
