Atomic Weapons Orientation films is a collection of 6 secretive films, originally produced by the Atomic Energy Commission and the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project (AFSWP).for the Defense Atomic Support agency. They provide a very in depth introduction to atomic/nuclear weapons history, oversight and management within the U.S. government. The AEC, a civilian organization separate from the Dept. of Defense, manages the research/development/production of weapons. The DAS was then formed to manage weapons that were stockpiled. All of these civilian tasks are now managed by the U.S. Dept. of Energy.
