Goebel M.I. Hummel # 305 "The Builder" - 5.5" Tall - 3-Line Bee Trademark (TMK-4) - Master Painter "O" (Gernot Bub) - Strong Colors with Gloss - Temporarily Withdrawn in 2002 - Closed Edition.

HUM 305 – The Builder - TMK-4

Height – 5.5"

This figurine was originally modeled in 1955 by master sculptor Gerhard Skrobek and may be found in extremely small numbers in the TMK-2 trademark and is considered extraordinarily rare with this mark. It has the incised copyright date of 1955 and was introduced first in the U.S. market in 1963. 1963 was the final year of the Stylized Bee Trademark (TMK-3) and thus is also very difficult to find due to the limited quantities produced in just one year. It is listed as “Temporarily Withdrawn” (TW) from production in June of 2002. Other than the earlier trademarks, there are no significant variations in the mold or finish affecting the normal values. This is a closed edition. See below for the specifications/variations on this hummel:

• Has 3-Line Bee Trademark (TMK-4) stamped in Blue on underside of base.

• Has Hummel Number "305", Factory Control Number "32" and Copyright Date "1955" incised on bottom of base. "M.I. Hummel" signature is incised on the left side of the base.

• Hand-signed "O" in black on underside of base by Master Painter, presumably Gernot Bub per mihummel.org Master Painter pictured list.

• Hummel stands at 5.5" tall and 3.25" long diagonally. This is the exact height listed in the catalogs.

• Colors are Strong and do retain Gloss.

• Hummel was temporarily withdrawn from production by Goebel in June 2002.

• Closed Edition.

• Hummel is in Excellent condition for it's age! No Touch Ups! No Repairs! No Chips! There is some minor crazing detected throughout the piece, with the majority on the base. It is difficult to notice without bright light shined in an angle and viewed under magnification. View final few pictures showing with and without light and magnification. It may have some dust from sitting in the China Cabinet for several decades. I certainly did not want to damage it inadvertently by cleaning it.
