«The first cosmonaut» - coin from series SPACE.

Face value – 500 tenge.  Bi-colored (composite) coin is made with the use of tantalum, the metal which is widely used in the space industry. Over coin production the technology of change of color of tantalum is applied. "The first cosmonaut", which was made in accordance with the plan of events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the flight into space of the first man on Earth - Yuri A. Gagarin, whose space flight on April 12, 2011 will be 50 years old.

    Obverse: the composition symbolized the unity of human being with the world and the connection between the past and present; the face value of the coin "500 TENGHE"; trade mark of Kazakhstan Mint; the inscription of «Ag 925 14.6 g. Та 26.8 g. » defining the metal which the coin is made of, its fineness and weight; two inscriptions in State and English languages "REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN".

    Reverse: there is an image of the first in the history of cosmonaut Yuri A. Gagarin. On the left side of the coin there is an image of the Vostok satellite ship in near-earth orbit, the inscription “1961-2011” indicating the year of the launch of the first man on Earth and the year the coin was minted. Along the circumference of the coin the inscription "TUNGYSH GARYSHKER" in the state language, the image of the signature of Yuri A. Gagarin and the inscription "FIRST COSMONAUT" in Russia
