These beautiful hand woven wall baskets are made Tonga women in Zimbabwe and originally been used for winnowing and storing grain.  The largest African wall basket is about 50cm in diameter and the smallest is about 25cm in diameter. Binga baskets are woven using the over and under style of ‘simple’ weaving and a 16 inch diameter basket can take around 2 weeks to complete. Binga baskets are unique with distinctive traditional designs & a square bottom forming the foundation of the basket.
