No defects.  Might as well be unused.  My daughter took very good care of this.  After she got her ears pierced and started to get an erring collection, she needed someway to organize and hold her earrings.  This works great!  You can put so many earrings on this stand and it sits nicely on the dresser.   Holds necklaces and bracelets too. Perfect gift for a little girl who just got her ears pierced.
