Brand new in box with instruction manual. Very easy to use, just plug and go. The mode switch is on the plug, press to select your preferred lighting pattern. The instructions also explain how to set the timer function allowing for the lights to be left on for 6 hours and then turn off for 18 hours repeating the pattern for as long as they are plugged in.

It is also possible to attach up to three lengths of these lights together.
