'The L-Shaped Room' follows a young woman, Jane Graham, in the late 1950s, as she finds herself pregnant with no desire to marry the father. Graham moves into a run-down boarding house in London, meeting a variety of colourful characters, all the while being looked down upon for being unmarried and pregnant.

This was Lynne Reid Banks' first adult novel, and proved to be an instant success and best-seller.


CONDITION

In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Minor bumping to the extremities. Light spots to the endpapers. Dust wrapper is lightly edge worn, with repairs to the reverse. Spine is lightly sunned. A few minor marks to the wraps, including tide marks to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
