• Great Looking Elegant Vase - We guess before WW 2 -- Certainly Original Zhongguo Zhi Zao !!

• Moriage (raised hand-painted dotted texture) throughout .. hand painted scene.

• Geisha scene is similar on both sides of the vase = 8 Geisha dressing, preparing hair with kanzashi, elaborate komono, willow tree background with river and sampans. 

• The size of this piece (15.75" Tall ... 8.5" Wide at the middle bulge ... 6.5" diameter shelf contact base) means it was quite expensive when new, and relatively few of them were sold. The result: this pattern is quite rare and valuable.

• Gold handles are fine - they compliment the curve of the vase's profile perfectly.

• Bottom stamped with the logo + "125" hand painted, which may be a code to identify the technician.

• Gold paint border and patterns supplement the gold handle colors. 

• Away from and in between the Geisha scenes we se flowers of many types and sizes - the sheer number of decorations is an amazement. 

♦ Weighs right around 6.25 pounds (2855 g) ...  Shipping weight will come in around 9 pounds, and will include INSURANCE.

CONDITION:   EXCELLENT  !!

 NO problems - no crack, it does not appear to have been used much (or at all) despite its age.

Unglazed contact ring shows some small amount of soil.

Shelf dust clings in the corners, in the hollow of the two handles - just dust.

Fine CRAZING can be seen on the interior of the vase at the top - this is typical of this porcelain pottery, and is not a flaw or weakness. 

Study photo of the vase's opening - a subtle stain pattern is seen which may be a factory process to protect the pottery and/or enhance the 'gold' tone.
