Inspector Detector is always doing whatever is necessary to bring about justice. He is an affable person and is always willing to thank and reward those who help him solve crimes.

He also seems at times to be working in cooperation with Racer X, who is a secret agent (Agent 9) with Interpol. It is not clear if they actually work for the same organization. Inspector Detector also seems to know about Racer X's real identity as Rex Racer, though again it is unclear if this knowledge is mutually shared through the relationship or whether the Inspector has seen a dossier on Racer X.
