Proofs are known for all each issue in the later Capped Bust Dime series of 1828-1837, and all are extremely rare.  The original mintages of these specimen deliveries were not recorded and, as such, have been lost to history.  The total number of coins produced for the entire series could not have been all that great, however, as the Mint was interested in creating only limited numbers of presentation and master sets during the late 1820s and 1830s.  Wholesale marketing of proof coinage to the collecting public did not commence until the late 1850s.
