DESCRIPTION:
This is a 1962 Marca Stella Pele graded BVG 8. This is one of Pele's most iconic Italian issues. PSA for some inexplicable reason now slabs these as 1963-65 issue WHICH IS 100% INCORRECT. No idea where PSA is getting their information, but the 24 card 1962 Marca Stella Mondiali del Cile series is well documented. There are other similar large format Marca Stella cards produced in 1963-65 but they DO NOT INCLUDE the 24 card 1962 Mondiali del Cile series which this card is from! A few years ago I spent a painful 18 months working with the PSA Spec team to catalog dozens of soccer sets and I can say their ability to properly research and catalog foreign sets is suspect at best. I have a complete checklist of the 24 card 1962 Marca Stella Mondiali del Cile set and links to Italian websites that document everything I've stated. I will even include a pic of the full box of 1962 Marca Stella that an Italian seller allowed me to select cards from about 10ish years ago. This card is from that original group of 20 Pele's I purchased from him.
As of the day this listing was updated, the PSA Population Report shows a total of 5 PSA 8s with NONE GRADED HIGHER! Honestly, this one is a possible candidate for cross over to PSA. This has near dead on perfect centering and looks like a solid PSA 9.
I've been asked about shipping in the past so let me say this. I ship expensive cards with Registered Mail. This takes 10-14 days on average for delivery. It is by far the safest way to ship as the card is under lock and key the entire way to you, which is why it takes longer for delivery. Also, I do not make money on shipping. I charge enough to make sure the the package is shipped and fully insured based on actual weight and value. If there are any extra shipping charges left over, I always refund them to the buyer.
