This is a Rare & Original Photogravure Aquatint / Mezzotint by Richard Rummell (1848 - 1924) & Published by Moses King (1853-1909). This Piece is Dated Circa 1903 and titled Wall Street with the header at the bottom reading "The New York Stock Exchange, Trinity Church and Wall Street". Its a Sepia toned print of the New York Stock Exchange, with Trinity Church converging in the distance. Pedestrians and horse-drawn carriages fill the streets in this view from the earlier time period. In the lower left corner is a small bust portrait of George B. Post who was the architect that designed the New York Stock Exchange. Moses King celebrated the NYC and chronicled the streets and skylines of Manhattan emphasizing New York in the realms of commerce, culture and technology, that remained a fascinating record of New York's evolving skyline. This is signed in the plate by Richard Rummell, an American artist who specialized in cityscapes, that was originally executed in watercolor for reproduction as prints. This piece is very rare and there is only one copy listed in OCLC/WorldCat, at the Boston Public Library. It s a nice depiction with fantastic architectural details, figurative Illustration, & Horse drawn carriages from the early Time Period. There is slight foxing and some staining mostly at the edges as shown in the pictures. These imperfections is what gives this piece its character. This comes from a Private Collection which makes it very Rare Due to its Size, Age & Beauty. Please keep in mind this is All Original and has wear and imperfections consistent with its age. Overall its in Great Condition & All shown in the photos.
