Really cool Italian leather eyeglass case by the Spadem company that is no longer in existence, they did a promotional run with actual Picasso silk screens on their eyeglass/Wallet/passport case, basically another case for whatever purpose. Limited edition so not many were made pretty rare, found in a small antique shop in San Francisco/West Coast online… Stamped Picasso on the bottom right corner and silver, on actual silk material with leather case… Mounted onto a linen backboard with a simple wooden frame and glass… Is it valuable? I don’t know, but it’s possible, but the real value is their beauty and rarity, inside the Spadem case says title of the artwork in question, Picasso C(copyright?) Spadem, 1979, size a frame is approximate 9 1/2 x 11 1/2”, size of silk screen image is approximately 2 1/2 x 4 3/4”, size of the leather case is approximately 6 1/8 x 3 1/8”, brown leather that is mounted onto linen backboard acid free. It is 100% legitimate item, there is no certificate apparently the story is that Picasso died before they could keep this line of promotional items going so they were similar to a concept item/promotional item made in very small quantities. Someone is selling one of their items for $50 unframed so I’m basically adding the price for two with the framing cost which is still pretty low… one image looks like something from a Japanese etching and the other one looks like a scene from a possible Greek mythology scene.. just really cool little items by Picasso that make for interesting pieces with possible value in the near future.
