Listing is for a Vintage Solido Dodge Truck, #242, Die-cast Metal, Scale 1:50, Mint Condition, NIB. Dodge WC series 1 1/2-ton, 6 x 6 cargo trucks were delivered during 1941-1945. Solido Dodge chassis is made of die-cast metal. Solido Dodge Truck is painted army green in color. This Dodge WC series Truck model has plastic canvas covered cargo bed. There is nothing broken, chipped, cracked, or missing from armored personnel carrier. Dodge Truck carrier is sold "as is." Dodge Truck is in Mint Condition looks great. Original box shows minor storage wear and clear cellophane is missing (that’s way I bought it from a seller a few years ago). Made in France.
Dodge WC series, also known as "Jimmy," was a highly successful series of off-road capable, 1 1/2-ton, 6 x 6 trucks, built in large numbers to a standardized design (from 1941 to 1945) for U.S. Army that saw heavy service, predominantly as cargo trucks, in both World War II and Korean War. Original "Deuce and a Half" formed backbone of famed Red Ball Express that kept Allied armies supplied as they pushed eastward after Normandy invasion. Dodge WC series was a closed cab and closed cargo bay was a standard, general purpose, cargo truck. A large minority were built with a front mounted winch, and one in four of cabs had a machine-gun mounting ring above co-driver's position. 43,224 Dodge 1 1/2-ton, 6 x 6 trucks were built.

Since this Solido military vehicle is built on a metal chassis it will stay in great condition for decades to come. Please note that typically, Solido tanks and armored fighting vehicles are made in a 1:50 scale while the support vehicles, which include the jeeps and staff cars, are produced in a slightly larger 1:43 scale. Also, Solido military and firefighting models are built so well that over 30 years later they are as good as they were when they were built and first sold. Truly this is quite remarkable!
