For your consideration is a very nice LARGE SQUARE BOWL WITH SIGNED BOX BY TATSUZO SHIMAOKA (1911 - 2007), former Japanese Living National Treasure.  The impression design was achieved using a wedge shaped right angle triangular stamp. This pattern is much rarer than his usual Jogon Zogan rope impressions and is quite powerful.  The dimensions are 11 1/4 inches (28.6 cm) square by 3 3/8 inches (8.6 cm) in height.  It is very heavy at 5 3/4 pounds.  It is in perfect condition and there are no chips or cracks.  It is signed and the box is also signed.  The box lid has a slight bend from age but is very solid.  I will ship the box and bowl separately but in the same container to help protect the box from damage during transport and I will double box.  (I have included some photos of some of my other listings  showing work by Shimaoka,  David Leach, David Cuzick, David Stewart and William Chappelow).   (C - 436)
