Certificate issued by the Superior of the Convent of St. Joseph of Prato: Benedictus (Benedetto) Salmone Superior for the Province of Lombardy (Insubria) of the Congregation of St. Joseph of Prato, recalls that two months ago, by the imprudence a servant, the convent pharmacy was completely destroyed by fire, and the adjoining St-Roch hospital was half reduced to ashes; therefore the congregation is deprived of any income. He sends the religious with these letters of recommendation to collect alms for two years in order to repair the destruction. He asks all political and religious authorities to welcome them and allow them to collect donations in their respective jurisdictions.
