This is a very nice original JNO W. BROWN headlight, made for Ford Mtr. Co. to fit most of their early models from 1915-1922, all of the non-starter vehicles. It has the model number under the Ford script on top: Model 540. This is identical to their rear lamps with the model number of 560, except those lamps came with the ruby, or red lens. This one has the clear lens.
I have found no large dents, just a couple of small ones in the center of the lamp and they are hardly noticeable. No deep scratches, or chips in the glass. The wick knob operates smoothly and the wick moves easily.
The original brass plating for the lens rim is worn, but still there. The lamp has a little surface rust, but has not eaten in to the metal. The paint is chipped, scratched and worn away in spots.
Great item for a restoration project, or display in your man-cave!
