DETAILS:

Case:            ‘Dolly Madison’ model. Distinctive and with superbly elegant style. The tonneau shaped case bezel is distinctive and highly noticeable. Original & signed ‘Bulova’ on the case back. The 10kt rose gold plated bezel and case back have been cleaned & repolished and fitted with a new acrylic crystal. In general the case looks great with modest wear/scratches commensurate with the age of the watch.

Crown:         Original, showing some wear.

 

Dial:              Immaculate, and highly noticeable, complementing the distinctiveness of the case, the dial has been professionally refinished in a copper tone. The hour positions are marked with numerals and these along with the ‘Bulova’ name and minute chapter are in black.

 

Hands:         Hour and minute hands are all original to the watch, blue/black steel, ‘Modern’ style.

 

Movement:   BULOVA high quality Swiss manual wind movement. This is a fine classic 6AH calibre with 17 jewels marked with a star symbol for 1941. The movement has been cleaned, oiled & adjusted, and is running well, keeping good time ready to wear. As with all vintage watches regular servicing is recommended.

 

Size:             Tonneau shaped, measures approx. 25.68mm lug to lug X 16.57mm excluding the crown.

 

Band:           A new black cord band with yellow gold tone clasps has been fitted complementing the timepiece perfectly. The length is 175mm including the watch.

The design of the case and eye-catching refinished dial make the watch highly attractive and very noticeable indeed. • This is a vintage manual wind watch with a movement from 1941 and as such it will not have the accuracy of a contemporary quartz movement therefore perfect time accuracy cannot be expected. If you want a watch to simply put on and go – then perhaps this is not the best choice you could make – however, if you want a period timepiece that you can admire and enjoy on each occasion you wear it, then this is a great item.
