Chlorophytum is a herbaceous perennial with a short stem and tuberous roots. It does not require any special care, however, it has several significant nuances that are important for its reproduction.

 In order for the planted seeds of chlorophytum to give their results, they are soaked in advance for a day in water or a diluted growth regulator agent. Then the seeds are rammed into a pot consisting of a mixture of sand or peat and fertilizer. Before planting, the soil mixture is moistened. Seeds are laid out on its surface at an equal distance from each other. The seed material is pressed into the ground with little effort. The container is closed with a plastic bag or glass. In order for the seeds to germinate quickly, they need to create a soil temperature of about 21 degrees.

 The first shoots will appear in a month and a half. Young shoots should be sprayed regularly, the room should be ventilated to the desired temperature. As soon as the seedlings have 2-3 leaves, they are transplanted into a separate small pot. After the seedlings grow, they can be planted in fertile soil in the garden.

 Young chlorophytums grow very quickly, so it is necessary to transplant them every year. Spring is chosen for these actions. In adult plants, growth slows down, so they should not be transplanted so often, but only as needed. This can happen in 3 years, after a strong overgrowth of the flower.

 As soon as the tips of the roots began to peek out of the drainage hole or the plant stopped growing and blooming, it is worth taking care of a new, larger capacity. The roots of chlorophytum grow not only in length, but also in width. Therefore, the pot itself should not be as deep as it is wide, wider than the previous version by seven centimeters.

 It is good to use ceramic containers. Drainage holes should be present in any pots. Otherwise, they must be made with your own hand. The roots should not be constantly in the water, they can get sick.

 Chlorophytum does not need special soil. It grows well and develops in ordinary, store-bought land. But the acidity index is of no small importance. The best option is neutral acidity. Acidic and alkaline soil should be excluded. If you prefer to prepare the soil mixture yourself, then you need to have the following ingredients available:

 -leafy earth (2 parts);

 -turf land (2 parts);

 -humus (1 part);

 -coarse sand or perlite (1 part).

 Instructions for chlorophytum transplantation

It is quite simple, but it must be followed to obtain a positive result:

 1. Choose a container and put a drainage 2cm high on the bottom. The earth is being poured from above.

 2. The socket is pulled out of the old pot carefully, without haste, with two hands. In order not to damage the root system, it should not be pulled up, but should be swung from side to side.

 3. As soon as the socket is removed, the old soil is slightly crushed from its roots.

 4. Chlorophytum is installed in the middle of a new pot and a little fresh soil mixture is poured there.

 5. As soon as the planting procedure is completed, the plant is heavily watered. The water trapped in the pan is removed. The container is placed in a place where partial shade is constantly present. This is necessary in order for the flower to get used to the new conditions faster.

The correctness of watering a plant is determined by the presence or absence of tuberous thickenings on its roots. If there are any, then the flower is deprived of moisture, and this is not very good.
