Gloxinia is a tuberous perennial. Thanks to its velvety leaves and flowers, characterized by high decorative qualities, the plant has gained great popularity among flower growers.

 The method of reproduction of gloxinia by seeds is a rather long and time-consuming process. To sow seeds, a disposable container will be required, several holes must be made in it to drain excess water with an awl. At the bottom of the container we pour a layer of drainage 1-2 cm. Use the purchased peat-based flower primer or peat tablets. Gloxinia seeds must be sown in a light substrate. So the young roots of the plant will develop better.

 We distribute the soil evenly over the container, level the surface for sowing seeds. On the surface of the soil, we evenly distribute the gloxinia seeds, they are very small. It is not necessary to sprinkle the seeds with earth, since they germinate only in the light.

 We cover the container tightly with a lid or plastic wrap and put it in a warm, bright place, you can put it under a lamp, with a temperature within 22-23 ° C.

 Make sure that the soil in the container does not dry out, it is constantly wet. Gloxinia seeds germinate in conditions of high humidity, so even after the emergence of seedlings, the container does not need to be ventilated (so that moisture does not evaporate). Gloxinia seeds germinate for about 8-10 days. Until the gloxinia seedlings gain strength and form 2 pairs of real leaves, do not start touching leaves with each other, they will grow in a mini-greenhouse.

 Frequent transplanting of gloxinia seedlings promotes their active growth. The more often we transplant, the faster they grow. After the formation of 2 pairs of real leaves, the seedlings are dived into separate disposable cups. The pick is held every three weeks. It is advisable to constantly increase the capacity or the distance between the seedlings. Then they will grow together and bloom faster.

 In order for the plant to take root and bloom, all the pickings need to be carried out on time!

 The first time is 1 month after sowing. To do this, using a spoon, the seedling is carefully removed from the container with the earth and transplanted into a separate container with the same soil. Slightly irrigated from above. At this stage, plants can be planted 2-3 pieces in one box.

 The second transplant is carried out at the moment when the height of the flower becomes more than 2 cm. Here, each plant is planted in a separate container with a capacity of at least 100 ml of soil.

 The third time the pick must be carried out after about another 15-20 days. The container capacity is no less than 200 ml.

 The fourth transplant is the planting of a plant in its permanent place. By the fourth pick, the seedlings already look like grown plants. Gloxinia already has a good root system. Carefully transplant it into a new pot. After transplantation, it is desirable to create greenhouse conditions again, but literally for 3-4 days, while the plant develops a new volume of the pot. Then the greenhouse package can already be removed. We maintain the lighting and temperature. The plant feels comfortable in a bright room, the windows should be facing southwest and southeast. Then gloxinia can already be grown without a package, as an independent plant. After a while, it will grow and the first buds will appear.

 For a representative of the tropical flora, it is worth choosing places with unrestricted space and an abundance of bright soft light. The daylight duration should be up to 12 hours. The flower does not tolerate drafts.

 Gloxinia needs a high level of humidity, which can be maintained by installing a stationary humidifier in the holding room or by placing containers of water next to the pot.

 Spraying, which can harm the decorative effect of a velvety flower, should not be carried out.

 In the phase of active vegetation, watering is carried out both in the lower way through the pallet, and in the upper way – with the prevention of water ingress on the leaves and flowers of gloxinia. When watering, which is carried out after the drying of the top layer of the soil mixture, the water is used at 2-3 ° above room temperature.
