Cosmea blooms beautifully, for a long time and colorfully, practically does not require care. Delicate flowers rise into the sky on thin, almost invisible stems from a distance. They look beautiful, numerous, like stars. Due to its undemanding conditions and care, as well as resistance to adverse environmental factors, Cosmea has become widespread all over the world.

 The cosmea flower is propagated by seeds, both by sowing directly in the open ground and by seedling method. In the open ground, the seed is sown as soon as the risk of cold weather disappears. 2-3 seeds are placed in each hole, deepening by about 1 cm. From the sprouts that have appeared, the strongest one is chosen, the rest are removed.

 The seedling method is used for growing low-growing plants and owners of especially large inflorescences. Light loose soil is poured into boxes or cups. The seeds are lightly pressed into the ground, gently moistened, covered with glass or film. The containers are kept in the light at a temperature of +18-20 ° C. During this period, regular airing and moderate spraying will be required. 1-1.5 weeks pass before the emergence of seedlings. After that, the shelter is removed.

 Dense seedlings need to be thinned in such a way that the distance between the seedlings is 10-15 cm, for this purpose, a pick can be carried out. The unpeeled seedlings are grown at a lower temperature – 16-18 ° C. If you do not want to bother with picking seedlings, you can immediately sow two or three seeds in separate cups.

 After 2-3 months, the plants are ready to move to the garden. Find an open sunny area for the cosmea, protected from the wind, with moderately fertile, well-drained slightly acidic soil. Too fertile soil contributes to the lush growth of greenery, but, alas, the quality and intensity of flowering suffer from this. The distance between the holes should be at least 30 cm. Seedlings are planted and watered abundantly. When the cosmea reaches a height of 50 cm, pinch the tops of the shoots so that the plant grows better. Flowering with the seedling method begins earlier. 

 Planting and caring for a cosmea is not burdensome even for beginners in floriculture. Watering of the cosmea is carried out once a week, and it should be abundant – four to five buckets of water should be poured under each bush. After watering, loosen the soil on the site and remove weeds until the cosmea becomes an adult, strong plant.

 Top dressing of the cosmea with fertilizers for flowering plants is carried out three times per season: before budding, during it and at the beginning of flowering. Remove fading flowers in time.
