This medal refers in general terms to the defeat of Napoleon. The city of Paris was surrendered to the Allies on 3Ist March 1814. Carl Philipp. Prince of Schwarzenburg. was made Commander in Chief of the Continental Armies allied against France in 1813, Following the surrender of Paris and the deposition of Napoleon. Louis XVIlI was recalied by the Senate and Legislature of France."
