Samuel Meltzer was educated at the University of Königsberg and then studied philosophy and medicine at the University of Berlin where he gained his MD in 1882. The next year, he and his teacher Hugo Kronecker were among the first to study (in 1883) esophageal manometry in humans.[1]

The Drum Inn, Sent from 2 Berkely Sq - Circa pre 1920
Christmas greeting sent from V Rehar (sp?) 2 Berkeley Square to a Stockbroker's family in New York on an unknown date.   The card is part of an ephemera lot of estate papers from a prominent New York stock broker whom also lived for a time in Boston.  The decedent lived from 1900's to 1970's ish.
The composition is on tanning white paper with brown print of unknown styling but appears quite old.  The inside features an old color image of the Drum Inn from a unique ariel angle with the water feature in the back and a larger portion of the road/path than other more common images.  There is some sort of penciled name scribbled on the bottom right corner of the paper frame, it's nearly two lines only and completely undecipherable. The folded area of the card has a cotton cord tied in a bow near the center.  The entire piece measures 5x7" as it is presented.
Unfortunately, I do not have possession of the envelope mailing for this card to establish the history further.
