Welcome to my store

This piece was handwoven using 100% live wool and natural dyes. It was made by a talented artisan, an Amazigh woman from the small town of Tazenakht, near the city of Ouarzazate in Morocco. She was responsible for each and every step of the weaving process, from harvesting and dyeing the wool, to constructing the loom, to the final design of the weave.

The design of this Hanbel rug features natural tassels on one side and a range of design elements from the Amazigh cultural symbolism. The weave is mostly flat but thanks to the pattern, the design elements have a slightly higher pile giving these rugs an interesting texture.
