Rust and Rot ~ Purveyors of wonderful things.

Welcome to the sale of this antique brass microscope.

Firstly the microscope although very well made has no makers mark. It would be best described as a field microscope coming as it does in a mahogany travel case. It has a single optic and a 1/4" lens, as well as various accessories located inside the door. In the base it has a pull out drawers that contains a collection of slides. Many of the slides are from 1860 to 1880 and include such curiosities as placenta, lung, breast tissue, elbow and jaw of a foetus etc! All in all a nice display piece and a great talking point.

In good condition commensurate with its age and use. Please have a good look at the photographs as they form part of the description and contact me if you have any further questions.

The microscope measures (in cm) 30 tall, 9 wide and 15 deep.

The case is 26 tall, 19 wide and 15 deep.  It weighs 3.5kg
