Art Deco Bronze Crucifix By J. HARTMANN German Sculptor in the 1920s. This Corpus Christi In made of Solid Bronze and mounted on a heavy wooden cross

This beautiful crucifix has a solid bronze Corpus Christi and is very heavy. It is signed Hartmann.

The Corpus Christi is signed by the artist 'Hartmann'. Johannes Hartmann (1869-1952) was a German sculptor renowned for his religious works and public monuments. He was a prolific artist who had a very interesting life. Hartmann studied at the Academy of Arts in Dresden with the great sculptor Ernst Hähnel (who created the famous Beethoven monument in Bonn), and oversaw the estate of his friend Max Klinger, the painter and sculptor considered the German Rodin . In good condition.

It is in very good antique condition. Very very heavy. It measures 10 1/2 inches tall.
