This week, the Lords release their first DVD, compiling six of their videos. The instrumental "Freaky Tiki" is tied to a nutty skit in which the Lords rescue a quartet of women from the natives of Headhunter Island, using the power of their surf-flavored licks. "Legend of 369" is a black and white spot that captures the Lords in their natural environment: playing live. Shot at the Beachland Tavern, the steamy rave-up cycles from the band's hotblooded performance to the crowd going crazy -- dancing, screaming, and spitting beer into the air. It's the next best thing to being there.
Bonus features include videos from other local favorites such as Psycho Charger, Uncle Scratch's Gospel Revival, Kill the Hippies and Rambler 454. There's also an odd collection of 15 film shorts that range from the silly, amateurish "Kung Fu vs. Sasquatch," to the slick, noirish jump cuts of "A Cordoba in Branston."
