DESCRIPTION - (Please Read)

1891 Indian Head is VF+++ and is Raw/Uncleaned. The coin has some scattered low-level corrosion. A large Rim Break is visible just above UN in United.

Details:  3-Star Repunched Date (18/18, 1/1), Snow-26 Plate and the Discovery/Plate for Poliquin Var-31 as shown in the included documents (photos 4, 7-9). The rarity for this particular die pairing is URS-8+ with only an estimated 49 to 95 examples struck.

Remember: An error coin contains blunders created by the US Mint. Error coins have more value than the average coin and increase in value at a faster rate. A much better investment for the collector. Some error documentation was used from Rick Snow's "The Flying Eagle & Indian Cent Attribution Guide - 3rd Edition".

 

NOTE: I do my best to represent the coin faithfully in my photos. I utilize a 5 MP microscope camera for all photos. Every detail will be laid bare, no hiding. Almost always, the coin will appear darker after being placed into the cardboard flip. I try to account for this. In a lot of situations, you will be better pleased after removing the coin, once you have bought it.

GRADING - any grading that I associate with listed coins are subjective and based mostly on PCGS or ANA standards. There is always a fine line between what you see, and what is in the hand. Assume that most coins have probably been cleaned in the past. I may not make note of all nicks/bumps, or scratches. Please refer to the photos to make your final decision, prior to the bid.  I use high definition photos, in order to give you the best representation of all items up for sale. Obverse and Reverse images are shown exactly as the coin appears. Close-ups may NOT appear with the original tone/color, as they do not always react to the lighting.
