In 2023, it is 50 years since Malcolm and Angus Young formed the legendary Australian rock band AC/DC and it began its irrepressible rise, fuelled by a distinctive sound and an energetic stage presence. The members of AC/DC honed their craft by playing tirelessly up, down and through Australia. It was during this time they developed their iconic sound: part Australian pub rock, part roots rock, a unique sound that would go on to dominate the world. The statistics speak for themselves: having released 18 studio albums between 1973 and 2023, AC/DC has sold more than 200 million albums sold worldwide and at least three generations of rock ’n’ roll lovers influenced by the band’s unmistakable sound.
