Hi there,

I'm selling a really great antique brass bed warmer.

Made by Thwaites, this Hot Air Bed Radiator would have been a very useful item at this time of year.

I believe this dates from 1913/1914.

Please see the photos and feel free to ask any questions.

I'm not sure, but I suspect this would have been filled with hot water, looking at others.

But the stopper doesn't rotate, so it won't come out.

I have tried.

So it can't be filled currently...

Alternatively, I wonder, if this design was placed in the oven, warming it entirely,  and then it was placed in bed, working literally by radiant heat.

And at over 2 kilos, I think it's possibly just a handle, rather than a screw top?

It measures 8 inches across.

There is a small letter S on the bottom.

There is a  Registered Design Number, No 619281.

As well as a Provisionally Protected number, No 4674/1913.

Possibly, there is an answer in the patent records?

It has been knocked abit and used over the years.

But it is basically in great condition.

So for now, this is being sold as seen...

As a lost and lonely bed radiator...

I will pack it carefully for travel.

Thanks for looking, and i'm always open to reasonable offers.
