An Antique German Handmade 'Indian' Marble.

Description: Intense ultramarine gives this marble a deep marine character; with a natural swirl of surf-like white decoration on the exterior.

Type: Indian

This variety of handmade German antique marble dates from between 1880 to 1920. They were not made in India but in the traditional glass factories of Germany by master craftsmen.

Indians often have a delicate clear, tinted or coloured base glass, although some have an opaque 'maglite' appearance that only admits light from a powerful backlit source.The exterior design is often asymmetrical and employs an attractive texture from the application of ground coloured glass lines to the surface: the hallmark of such marbles. These types of marbles are highly sought after, making very collectible beautiful items with a unique, eclectic character.

Size: 14.8mm or .58'' or 9/16'' inch.

Condition: Mint.
