Notes:            Cleveland Museum of Art. Georgia O’Keeffe’s painting “White Pansy” was created in 1927 and is an oil on canvas painting. Upon her death at age 99, O’Keeffe bequeathed White Pansy to the Cleveland Museum of Art, an early supporter of her work. She clearly held the painting in high regard, having enjoyed displaying it on the living room wall of her home in Abiquiu, New Mexico. Georgia O’Keeffe was an American modernist artist born on November 15, 1887, and died on March 6, 1986. She is best known for her paintings of enlarged flowers, New York skyscrapers, and New Mexico landscapes. O’Keeffe has been called the "Mother of American modernism."
