According to the label under the keyboard (see pic) it's a Model M6-1 with a (birth?) date of Nov. 18, 1996 made for IBM in Mexico by Key Tronic. Has a 772? MB hard drive, a Genuine Pentium processor, 40 MB of RAM, a built in CD player an external floppy disc drive and more.
It originally had Windows 95 but has been upgraded to Windows 98 (Win 98 upgrade CD included). I had named the laptop "Genghis" and the C drive was designated as "Kahn". (I will change it upon request). Details about all parts and accessories are listed below.
The laptop is heavy, almost 8 pounds! It does boot up and runs fine when plugged in (the battery no longer holds a charge) and runs Windows 98.
It has a problem with the built in display, I believe that it has a wonky connector and won't display anything unless you get it in...just the right spot...then it works...unless it moves from that sweet spot :-(. The workaround is to plug in an external monitor (any VGA capable monitor will do, even a flatscreen. I'll include a VGA video cable). Pic shows my Dell flatscreen VGA monitor hooked up behind the laptop to use it. I used to attach an external keyboard (not included) and mouse (mouse included) via the dual serial port adapter (included) with an external display (not included. Use your own) hooked up behind it, worked fine. One of the pics shows the wonky built in display briefly, sorta working, with my Dell flatscreen monitor behind it showing the laptop display. The display issue can be fixed. Otherwise everything else works ok. See pics for more details/info.

My wife's boss at the NYC company that she worked at back in 1998 gave her this laptop when he got his upgraded. It was "top of the line"...for 1996! (it's practically a museum piece!) She gave it to me and I used it when I was starting my Web Design business. Although it has some sentimental value, I don't really need it so I've decided to sell it to someone who will use it and give it a good home ;-) BTW it includes a fun little Space Pinball game on it, included a short video of that.
The whole package is rather heavy, approx. 20 pounds with laptop, colorado backup tape drive, various cables and accessories and large heavy duty Targus case! Local area pickup is also available, Long Island north shore area near the Great Neck LIRR station.
