Commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Stanley Cup, first presented during the 1892-1893 season to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association team by Lord Stanley.

The Stanley Cup is one of the most highly recognized as well as cherished trophies in the world of sports. Named after Sir Frederick Arthur Stanley, lord of Preston and the 16th earl of Derby, he served in Canada's House of commons from 1865. He was later on named governor general of the country in 1888 and he became an ice hockey fan in 1889 after watching a game at the Montreal Winter Carnival. The Stanley Cup was first presented during the 1892-1893 season to the Montreal Amateur Athletic Association team by Lord Stanley.

Commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Stanley Cup with this 1993 Centennial Sterling Silver Bu Dollar from the Royal Canadian Mint. The coin's reverse design is designed by Canadian artist Steward Sherwood and it depicts the Stanley Cup as it evolved from its early days to the present time.
