The Sunday Times Magazine July 31, 1977

Bamber Gascoigne is that very nice young man who is usually seen only
from the waist up being very nice to people on University Challenge.
On Tuesday, he should at last be revealing his legs. Thats when he starts
a 13-part series on Christianity for ITV. The part calls for a lot of
walking about in exotic locations. Hes bound to use legs. Immediately
afterwards, the BBC will be presenting their 13-part religious series. It
looks like being a holy autumn. On page 36, Ian Jack sets the scene for
some very nice religious rivalry.
