Billy Williams, born on June 15, 1938, is a former professional baseball player who had a distinguished career as an outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB). Williams played the majority of his career with the Chicago Cubs.

Nicknamed "Sweet Swingin' Billy from Whistler" for his smooth left-handed swing, Williams was known for his consistency and durability. He played 16 seasons in the MLB, primarily from 1959 to 1974, spending the majority of his career with the Chicago Cubs before a brief stint with the Oakland Athletics.

Williams was a six-time All-Star and won the National League (NL) Rookie of the Year award in 1961. He had an outstanding offensive career, finishing with over 400 home runs and a lifetime batting average above .290. In 1987, he was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
