White stuff on the headphone cords appear to be a "hardened" adhesive like glue, it peels off easy as shown in the picture, not sure if it was a manufacturer thing or what, I got it from an Estate Auction, didn't want to risk damaging the headphone cord so Im leaving it for the buyer to decide what to do with it, other than that it's in pretty darn good shape for it's age!
