Illustrated with a frontispiece and fifteen plates to Volume I, and a frontispiece and fifteen plates to Volume II. 

Collated, all plates are present. Half-title is present to Volume I, lacking to Volume II. 

Anthony Trollope's novel following the failure of a marriage due to the husband's unreasonable jealousy. 

In this novel Trollope consistently alludes to 'Othello', and though it is considered to be one of his best novels, Trollope considered it to be a failure.

CONDITION

In a half calf binding with marbled paper to the boards. Externally, generally smart, with a little light rubbing to the extremities, joints, and boards. Spine is faded. Minor bumping to the extremities. Bookplates to the front paste down and to the recto of the front endpaper. Light spots to the endpapers. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean.
