One of an unspecified number of limited edition copies of this work produced, flat signed by the author to a front endpaper, and produced from the US first edition by the Franklin Library, for members of the Signed First Edition Society.

'The Songlines' combines fiction and non-fiction as Chatwin describes a trip to Australia with the purpose of researching Aboriginal Song and its connections to nomadic travel. Throughout the book, discussion with Indigenous Australians yield insight into Aboriginal culture. 

Featuring colour illustrations of Aboriginal bark paintings.

With letter to Signed First Edition Society members loosely inserted, as issued.


CONDITION

In the publisher's original full morocco binding, with gilt pictorial detailing to boards. Internally, firmly bound. Pages clean and bright.
