Dollhouse Van Gogh Sunflowers Retreat ooak antique vintage furniture and accessories artisan handcrafted and in a vintage wooden and canvas covered hand painted First Aid trunk with metal latch, and sturdy handles, and newer wooden gilded patina fat bun feet.  The distressed canvas is very secure and I have gilded it here and there for some golden sparkle on the cafe’ au lait tone canvas.  The prior owner of this trunk applied the pretty fabric Paris central medallion. 

 French dream of a wonderful filled doll house in a lovely handpainted and decorated lidded trunk filled with vintage and new furniture and accessories depicting a beautiful farm cottage painters retreat in a sunflower field in France, 103 total items. As seen from the windows you will view real photos of pastoral sunflower and lavender fields in Provence, France and beautiful French countryside hill scenes. 103 items total. Always one of a kind from me and signed on the bottom of the chest. 

   Inside there are beautiful vintage, possibly antique embroidered floral linens along with a tan lace one suggesting a fancy sisal rug. 103 items of   vintage, antique and new  wooden furniture painted with sunflower motifs and wonderful decorative antique and vintage and new ( some handcrafted) items as follows:

 There is a story I created to go with this delicious set. It goes as follows: Vincent Van Gogh visited this cottage often as his lover, the woman named Sein Horrnik , lived there. He would travel from Holland to France to escape himself, and gaze at the sunflower field with her. He painted the painting ‘Sunflowers’ here and I have framed that one in a fancy gilded frame, next to the bed.  Nobody knows she had the original Sunflowers painting and maybe it is still hidden away somewhere in the world. Here he works on Starry Night, as seen on the easel. On the reverse is a Monet painting, did Vincent know he had a masterpiece on the reverse side of his masterpiece.?  Here Vincent and Sein laze away the evenings and early mornings having cheese, and tarts, baguettes and milk and fruits, coffee and sometimes wine.  Vincent sold a painting and so brought her two adorable bags of candies and a big bouquette of flowers.  

 Antique or vintage embroidered floral cotton linen lines the inside of the lid and a portion covers the floor.  The 2 “rugs” are in the tones of the entire set and the embroidered “rug” matches one of the chair cushions.   The walls have 3 windows behind panes and vintage fabric curtains showing real scenes of Provence, France. There is a fancy wooden clock on the wall and an oval gilt frame picture of a woman, along with the aforementioned Sunflowers painting in a gilt frame.  On the outside of the front of the trunk is a glossy black metal functional hung letter box with 3 different tiny old paper letters and a newspaper rolled in the newspaper rack. 

  Now for the furniture and accessories:

A large vintage brown wooden hutch painted with sunflowers and decoupaged with beautiful French ads, labels etc.  2 books, a beautiful fancy handcrafted Scrapbook I sewed/bound with French functional pages ( Sein wrote L’Amour Vincent and dated one of them); a basket filled with fabric, baguettes and a glass jar of herbs; a very vintage pink ceramic pig statue with a slightly chipped ear, a basket of green apples; 2 French wine bottles; vintage figurines, plate of croissant and a coffee cup and saucer,jug,ceramic bowl of strawberries; 2 bags of candy, a plate of salad, a plate of sliced banana, and 4 metal yellow floral canisters and 4 matching lids;  next there is a wooden dining table with hand painted sunflowers holding a beautiful fancy sunflower cake I created on a gilt floral china platter, 2 matching gilt edge plates, 2 sets of fancy metal fork, knife, spoon, 3 french cheeses, a green vintage basket holding vintage wooden mushrooms, green  covered compote with 2 matching green goblets, 2 new gold metal candle sticks with 2 white candles;

  3 matching vintage wooden cushioned carved chairs with matching sunflowers and vintage/antique loose cushions covering the painted yellow seats; a small vintage sunflower motif wooden table holds a vintage or antique glazed pottery jug with a vintage wooden milk bottle, 2 slices of toast, a glass bottle of honey labeled Meile meaning honey and it has a spoon with honey on it; 

  A basket with wonderful cushy fiber inside makes the bed for the separate smiley kitty, a wooden bed with sunflowers painted on the head board and footboard, covered with a beautiful green, strawberry, golden and white comforter with a matching pillow, a gilt wooden artist case holding Vincent’s paints and tools/brushes, a miniature deck of playing cards with all the cards and box with the Ace and King of Hearts showing;

  Next a vintage fancy wooden console with 3 functional drawers holds a large fluted clear vase filled with the flowers Vincent brought Sein, a pretty strawberry, blueberry and kiwi tart, a blooming plant, a very vintage metal tray with tiny fancy macrons and a cup and saucer of Espresso coffee;

Next a tiny green enamel toilet hides behind the bed, and a wooden easel holds the Starry Night painting Vincent created. 

  Wow. This one of a kind creation is a lovely treasure whether you choose to set it up like I have,  or use it all in your own way.
