I've never seen a more beautiful needlepoint. The work that went into creating this masterpiece is astounding. This portrait in needlework is executed in both gros point and petit point. This piece has been in my personal collection for many years, it's time for someone else to get years of enjoyment out of this remarkable work of art. The talent of this artist is amazing. The shading of the background, the sheen of her silk dress, all captured SO beautifully in this work of art . The petite point allows the artist to capture the very small details in the children's faces ~ this is a portraite of late 18th century children ~ I date this to around the 1940's? The finished canvas was tacked / nailed to the board all around and then it was framed. When I took it down the paper backing holding it to the frame released its grip, but I didn't want to add anything new to this piece for collectors. If, however, the person purchasing would like me to afix the needlepoint to the frame , I will happily do this ~ There is a little sticker on the back "Vassail & fils gravure encardment perpignan" The frame that came with the lovely needlework is guilded on top of Gesso ~ Chipped and worn so beautifully ~ I adore the signs of time and use that the frame offers to the PERFECTION of the needlework ~ If you decide to replace in the frame you simply have to get picture border tape ~

MEASUREMENTS : The magnificant needlework measures 22 inches by 26 inches and the frame adds another 3 inches ~

Condition ~ : This needlepoint couldn't get any more perfect. The frame has signs of time and use, ~ please use the zoom feature to view exactly ~*~ A once in a lifetime find ~
