This listing is for the old stoneware jug that you see in the photos. I purchased it at an estate sale in Oregon where I was not told its history. I do not know how old it is. I am guessing that it is early 20th century and that it was for beer or ale. I leave it to the buyer to decide how old it is and what it was used for.

The writing on it reads, “Chester’s Brewery Co. LTD 2 Ardwick Brewery Manchester”.

It measures close to 15 1/4 inches tall with a diameter close to 8 5/8 inches. It weighs close to 12 pounds.

The condition is much like you see it in the photos. There are some flaws that I believe to be manufacturing flaws and not damage. I have taken close-up photos of them. The bottom looks soiled or discolored. I have not tried to clean the inside of it. Otherwise, it is fine and as shown.

I guarantee this jug to be as described and represented by the photos.

Please know that the lighting in my photos is uneven and that there might be shadows or reflections. The colors on my monitor look close to but not exactly like the actual colors. Different monitors may show different colors. I often say that an item measures or weighs “close to” because in my opinion no measurements are exact and some things are difficult to measure.

I like to leave feedback after I know that the item has arrived and that the buyer is satisfied.

I reserve the right to cancel any bids without explanation.

I frequently purchase signature delivery for my more valuable packages because of the possibility of them being stolen off of a porch or damaged by weather. I often but not always ship the same or the next day. Often, I have a double wall box custom made for larger items and that might result in a short delay. When I use packing peanuts, they are usually biodegradable. Sometimes, I use used boxes.

Please email me with any questions or suggestions. I do not ship on weekends. I might not be available to answer email on weekends.
