Kombi-rail is a new roof-rail designed to fit VW T5/T6 variants. It provides a longitudinal T-slot channel with similar dimensions to the VW roof-prep rails and the VW California rails.

Originally designed to mount the unique Kombi-rak side loading roofrack system (see photo and more information on Facebook), the Kombi-rail can also be used to mount cross bars, solar panels and auxilliary items and will allow positioning along the full length of the rails. Use compatible aftermarket mounts or simple T-bolts/nuts.

Listing is for a pair (LHS and RHS) including fixing screws and seals, together with a set of end caps to finish off the assembly.

It is secured in place using the integral roof tappings provided in the T5/T6 roof and can be fitted in a matter of minutes using the Torx screws and seal kit supplied. I recommend a small smear of auto silicon sealant to assist the seal onto the roof.
When fitted, Kombi-rail sits in the roof gutters and is fairly inconspicuous from the roadside.

There are top loading windows at each end of the rails to assist with loading/removal of the roof fittings. Internally, Kombi-rail also features  rain gutters to keep water away from the central screws and drainage ports at each end.

The T-slot dimensions are 12.5mm slot width and 25mm channel width, with a useable depth of 10mm to clear the screw heads. T-bolts or square nuts of 24mm width will fit well. Overall width of the rail is 39mm (including the C channel) and the height is 23mm.

There are three options of length: -
2160mm SWB - this option uses 4 mounting screws for each rail (LHS and RHS)
2210mm LWB - this option uses the front 4 mounting points on the LWB van (see note below). The rail will stop short of the rear of the van
2550mm LWB - this option uses all 5 mounting points on each side of the LWB van and the rail extends virtually the length of the roof.

Note :  the 2210mm version has an extra set of screw holes - therefore this option can be converted to suit a SWB version by cutting off 50mm from the rear of the rails.

Externally there is provided an awning C-channel (6.2mm internal diameter) which will accept both 4mm and 5mm Kador strips to attach to drive away awnings. Please note : this groove WILL NOT fit the more standard 6mm beaded Kador.

The C-channel is provided on both rails giving the option to fit the drive-away awning either side of the van (or both if you have two awnings !) - ideal for twin sliding doors!!

Also available separately are compatible mounts for Thule Wingbars which are shown on the last 3 photos of the listing, which provide a simple attachment to the Kombi-rails (please contact me for more details). They provide a simple bolted mount which is a lower height that the available Thule footpack (see comparison photo).
These mounts will not interfere with the awning groove.

Postage is high due to the length, however you are welcome to pick up from Swansea, I can assist with fitting with prior arrangement.
