Stunning borderless Chess board in Curly Maple and quarter sawn Walnut The board is done in face grain as that is the only way the curl shows up especially on the edges.

47.625(1 3/4") Squares 355 (14") X 355 (14") 20 (3/4"+) thick.

The board in the picture is the one you will receive. Please look over the photos to make sure which on you want in case of multiple listings. The one you click on to buy is the one you will get. These are handmade items all slightly different. Especially in wood tone.

Finish is a couple of coats of blond shellac to seal and make the color pop. This is followed by  6 coats of Musical Instrument Lacquer.

The piece was then wet sanded to 1500 grit and then rubbed out to a soft glow using two grits of automotive rubbing compound.
