HUM 114 – Let's Sing, Ashtray - TMK-2 (R)


Height/Width – 3.5" Tall X 6.25" Wide


This figurine was originally modeled by master sculptor Reinhold Unger in 1938 with the ashtray on the left facing the little accordion player. It was restyled in 1959 by master sculptor Theo R. Menzenbach with the ashtray on the opposite side. The earlier ashtray, this one for sale, is considered more rare and is difficult to find. Both figurines may be found with the Full Bee TMK-2 trademark and according to Robert Miller’s 2006 Price Guide, the older version of the Full Bee ashtray held a value of between $600 to $850 whereas the later version of the Full Bee ashtray was valued between $250 and $350. This figurine was temporarily withdrawn from production by Goebel in 1999. It is a closed edition. See below for the specifications:


• Has "🐝"  Full Bee Marking (TMK-2) with "(R)" stamped in Blue on underside of base.


• Old Style - Early Version sculpted by Reinhold Unger with the ashtray on the Left Side, produced prior to revision by Master Sculptor Theo R. Menzenbach in 1959. View final picture to see the difference between the old and newer styles. Note that just one hummel is included with this sale. Final picture is only for reference purposes.


• Incised Hummel Number "114" and Factory Control Number "40" on underside of base. Incised "M.I. Hummel" on lower front left side of ashtray base.


• Hummel dimensions are exactly as stated in the catalogs, standing at 3.5" High by 6.25" Wide.


• "6" Handsigned in black by Master Painter Lina Hofmann on underside of base. Painter attribution from mihummel.org Master Painter picture. See second to last picture for Goebel Painter List. Note that Painter list is not included with sale. It is for reference/attribution purposes only.


• Colors are Strong and do retain Gloss.


• Temporarily Withdrawn from production by Goebel in January 1999.


• Closed Edition.


• Hummel is in Excellent condition considering it's age and rarity! No Repairs! No Chips! No Touch Ups! No Crazing! May have minimal dust from sitting in the China Cabinet for decades. I did not want to damage it inadvertently by cleaning it.

My mother was the President of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Hummel Club during the 1980s through the 2000s and collected Hummel figurines for approximately 50 years.
