You are buying a FIRST EDITION copy of the hunting classic, ‘Shooting on Upland Marsh and Stream”, by William Bruce Leffingwell. This is a series of articles written by prominent sportsmen, describing hunting experiences while shooting a wide assortment of game birds, including pheasants, grouse, turkey, geese, pigeons, ducks and more.

Book is in dark blue boards, with a stunning gold gilt design on the cover, and gold title on spine. Measures 9 ¼” x 6 ½”, and almost 2” thick. Contains 473 pages for content of the book, plus a ‘bonus’ section at the end with period advertisements for gun manufacturers, and other products of interest to the sports hunter.

Condition: Considering that this book is now 133 years old, this book is very nice.  Binding is tight, pages are bright. No writing inside that I can see, not even the previous owner’s name. Some normal handling is apparent along with some wear and scuffing on the covers. Book corners are decent, while showing some shelf wear. Despite the evidence of handling and some shelf wear, this is a very nice copy that has been well preserved through time.

This book is not an ex-library book.  I am not a book exchange company or Goodwill, where books are played out or pretty much ‘well fingered’ and obviously handled a lot.  I mail items surrounded by cardboard, unlike some sellers that drop it in a thin plastic bag and call it good.  I want it to arrive in the same condition you see in the photos.

For a complete picture of condition, please read the description and review the photographs I have taken and posted with this listing.  The photographs I have included in this listing are of the actual item you are buying.  Please ask questions before bidding, and I will answer as best I can.

I prepare items carefully for shipping, and often reuse shipping materials to minimize impact on the environment, and rarely have a problem with damage in the mail.

I try my best to describe what you are buying, but if I have made a mistake in my description or missed something significant, returns will be allowed.  However, I will not accept a return simply because you changed your mind about buying it.  For a book or audio book, if you decide the book isn’t as interesting as you hoped, or the reader’s voice isn’t as exciting as you expected, that is not grounds for a return.  Basically, if you buy it, it is yours.  Thank you for understanding!
