New version HIFI Denmark Soekris Dam 1021 24/384K R2R DAC Decoder Board Support DSD256

Description:

- It uses the same FPGA and same uC as usual, so should be able to use same firmware, there are some differences, so new firmware is needed and will autodetect board.
- Output shift registers now running at 1.4M/1.5M sample rate, making FIR2 filter different. Will require new filter file, but plan to use same filter file for both old and new boards, firmware will load filters as needed.
- The R-2R network is now 24+3+1, i.e., 24-bit classic R-2R network, 3-bit thermometer network, plus the sign, total 28 bits.
- Si514 clock in a small package, and it drives the shift registers directly, no added jitter by going through the FPGA.
- The clock Power supply is separate and use a LP2907 low noise regulator.
- Those are powered at +-5.4V from LM317/LM337 pre regulators.
- Output opamps are opa1678.
- Power in are now DC only, optimal is +- 9V.
- The board is mechanical and almost electrical compatible with previous version of the dam1021.
- J9 is 4 bits user i/o, planning to use it for additional for SPDIF inputs.
- The non-isolated serial management port is now TTL levels, not real RS232 levels. So, get the right USB to serial adapter.

- Support PCM 28bit 384khz, only use 24bit, others can be used for volume adjustment
- Support coaxial, optical, for AES, and for IIS interface input, with isolation and FIFO data re-clocking function
- Support XLR balanced and single-ended RCA output, and RAW RCA output without buff circuit.
- The balanced interface can directly drive high-impedance headphones.
- With for RS232 serial port, you can write firmware upgrades or write various digital filters by yourself. The digital filters can be downloaded in the following post or can be obtained from the owner.
- The external power supply supports dual AC7-8v (5-7va) or dual DC±12v (5-7va) at the same time

- The initial release of the firmware together enables the following features:
- I2S input up to 384KHz sample rate (tested to 192KHz)
- for SPDIF input up to 192KHz (tested to 96KHz)
- Automatic De-emphasis for 44.1KHz material
- Built-in set of simple FIR filters for all sample rates
- Digital volume control through simple potentiometer
- Automatic input selection
- Data relocking: s/w PLL with 0.02 Hz low pass filter
- S/W interface (serial interface) allows:
- Volume control (e.g., with Arduino)
- Input selection (e.g., with Arduino)
- Loadable FIR filters including bypass filter for NOS support (s/w utility included)
- Firmware update/upgrade
