Filson Rugged Twill Field Duffle Bag embodies the philosophy that's guided Filson for 125 years: Manufacture uncompromising products using the best available materials and construction. Products that withstand the rigors of daily use for years on end are handed down rather than tossed out.
Rather than waxed canvas, Rugged Twill was chosen for its exceptional abrasion resistance. This industrial-strength fabric comes from Britain's oldest, most storied mills and is lightly waxed to keep valuables dry and protected from the elements. The Bridle Leather for the handle, shoulder strap, trims, zip pulls, and bridle straps are solid and durable, extending in front, and has a crossed bridle leather on the back and around the zipper closure on top to cradle the heaviest loads. The leather straps have been slowly vegetable-tanned over several weeks in natural plant-based solutions that transform top-grade cowhides into sturdy, supple, and lustrous leather that molds to the shape of your hand over decades of use. The rustproof heavy-gauge zippers are built from solid brass.
The bag was barely used and is in fantastic condition. There are no issues or flaws in this bag. We rated it 8.9 out of a perfect 10!

Layout: (1) main compartment, including storm flap with double leather buckle closure; (2) front bellows pockets with snap closures; (1) back exterior pocket and (1) small carrying handle.
The Filson 240 is an essential messenger-style bag that can be worn over the shoulder or carried crossbody. It features a spacious, main zippered compartment with no built-in organization. It also has two expandable "billows" pockets on the front of the bag (under the storm flap) that snap closed.
The leather trim on the edge of the storm flap is one of my favorite design elements, giving the bag a classic, timeless appearance. It is secured with two leather straps and two brass buckles. Another excellent detail is the embossed Filson logo on the ends of the leather straps, which adds a quality feel to the overall design.
