Up for sale, a 1950s Fender Champion lap steel in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This Champion steel retains all of its original hardware, outfitted with modern electronics that match vintage spec including CTS pots and a Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickup, specially designed as a drop-in replacement for this model. Clear-sounding and dynamic, the steel yields plenty of chewy twang and sparkle. Strung with fresh roundwound strings, the Champion has been a mainstay of gigging musicians and recording artists for decades.

The headstock features a clean chrome plate embossed with the lightning bolt "Fender Electric Instruments" logo, along with a set of original Kluson Deluxe single line tuners. The metal playing surface overlay on the pearloid is also quite clean, with no notable wear.

The wiring harness features new CTS pots and a Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickup, wound to vintage spec with flat alnico pole pieces, black fiber flatwork, and cloth-covered leads. The original chrome-plated pickup cover and control plate are remarkably well-kept, and the four-digit serial number is stamped on the bridge base behind the saddle. The original pair of domed knobs are intact too, identical to what you'd find on the earliest Telecasters. The yellow pearloid wrap is quite clean overall, with some minor marks on the edges.
